Reflecting on Two Years of Rescue: A Journey with the Donkey Children

As I sat with the donkey children, my mind wandered through the last two and a half years, a period filled with transformative experiences and poignant moments. These kids, each with their unique stories and personalities, have profoundly impacted my life. Many of you have followed their journeys, witnessing their heartbreaking beginnings turn into happy, healthy lives. From their frail and sickly bodies to robust, spirited adults, their stories are a testament to resilience and love.

A Journey of Rescue and Transformation

Over the past 2.5 years, we've rescued over 500 donkeys and a handful of horses, mules, and hinnies. These animals were often found in dire conditions—abused on trader trucks, trapped in kill pens, sick, severely neglected, or unhandled. Some were at risk of all these fates. Our efforts extended to assisting law enforcement in rescuing neglected equines, ensuring they received the care and love they deserved.

From Rescue to Adoption: Changing Lives

Out of these rescues, we've managed to adopt out over 200 donkeys to the most amazing homes. Our adopters have been incredible, providing loving and caring environments where these donkeys can thrive. Their commitment and compassion have played a crucial role in our mission, and for that, we are immensely grateful.

Education and Awareness

Through on-site tours and our social media presence, we've reached millions, educating people about the injustices donkeys face. Sharing these stories has not only raised awareness but also galvanized support for our cause, helping us continue our vital work.

The Team Behind the Magic

None of this would be possible without an incredible team. Our volunteers are the backbone of our operations, sharing a deep passion and love for donkeys. They work tirelessly to ensure every animal gets the care and attention they need. Our Board is solid, providing unwavering support and direction.

Special mention goes to our farrier, Kendra. Her expertise and gentle approach are perfect for handling the neglected, abused, and frequently apprehensive donkeys that come into our care. Her dedication has made a significant difference in the lives of many donkeys.

A Day of Reflection and Gratitude

Today, as I reflect on our journey, I am filled with gratitude. Thank you for sticking with us, for supporting us, and for sharing our mission. Together, we've made a tremendous impact, and I look forward to continuing this journey with all of you. Our desire to make the world a better place for donkeys remains strong, and with your continued support, we will keep fighting to end their suffering.

Thank you for being a part of this incredible journey.
