SAVE THE DATE! We hope to see everyone at our 2nd Annual Donktoberfest and Haunted Forest Hayride during the last weekend in October. Friday night kicks off the events with the hayride. You will hop on a wagon that snakes through the dark woods full of scary surprises. The ride ends at the barn where you can enjoy complimentary hot cocoa or cider while learning a little about the rescue. Our merchandise will be available for purchase, and you can enter one of our raffles. The wagon will then take you back to the gate to keep you safe from any ghouls that may have wandered to the barn road.
Saturday during the day, while the ghouls are sleeping, we have our Donktoberfest Open House. You will enjoy a tour of the rescue where you can learn about what we do while meeting a lot of the rescues. Once the tour is done, you can enjoy the activity field where the kids can play in the bounce house, and everyone can enjoy donkey-related crafts, kissing a donkey at the kissing booth, and much more. You will have the opportunity to buy our merchandise and enter our raffles here as well.
Saturday evening when dark is setting in, the ghouls and goblins will make their appearance again for another evening of hayrides and screams throughout the forest. This is a weekend you won’t want to miss!
We will be having our treat drive again for this event. Bring a bag of equine treats, animal crackers or a box of graham crackers or vanilla wafers for the donkeys for a chance to win a prize.
