Donkey Rescue
Since opening in 2021, we taken in over 500 donkeys who were abused, neglected and/or malnourished. We provide them the medical, nutritional and behavioral rehabilitation that allows them to be adopted into loving homes. Those who cannot be adopted out are deemed sanctuary and live out their lives at the rescue.

Who We Are
Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue (PPDR) was founded to help prevent cruelty inflicted upon donkeys. Primarily focusing on donkeys within the United States, PPDR takes in abused, neglected, malnourished, ill and elderly donkeys and provides them medical, nutritional and emotional rehabilitation with the plan to later adopt them to carefully vetted loving homes. We also focus our efforts on educating the public regarding the plight of donkeys worldwide in order to bring about change in perception and treatment.

Your Heart Has Room — Even If Your Land Doesn’t
Want to adopt a donkey but live too far away or don’t have enough space to bring one home? You can still make a life-changing difference!

Through our Virtual Adoption Program, you can become a proud virtual parent to one of our beloved resident donkeys. These special boys and girls will call Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue their forever home due to age, medical needs, or other circumstances — but they still need love, care, and dedicated supporters.

Hope Starts With You!
Join Us in Rescuing Hope and Restoring Happiness
Every day, donkeys arrive at our gates broken—neglected, abused, starved, and forgotten. They come from kill pens, auctions, abandonment, and cruelty. At Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue, we offer them safety, medical care, nourishment, and love—sometimes for the first time in their lives.
But we can't do it alone.

Your support gives these donkeys the chance to heal, to trust again, and to discover that not all humans bring harm. Whether it’s funding a life-saving surgery, filling a hay net, or building a safe shelter—your gift becomes their second chance.
